I am also grateful that the animators didn't feel the need to make Marron's clothes fly off during the first transformation sequence - that really does get pretty old very fast. I am grateful that the first transformation sequence, at least, is relatively watchable - the animators set it up so that they can use different backgrounds for the transformation sequence based on the character's current location. Like almost all animated series, KKJ suffers from some "cost cutting measures," including reused animations (transformations and demon captures) and a noticeable use of "still frames" to cut down on the need for inbetweening towards the middle of the series.
Anime with spear girl series#
**EDIT** I have since finished watching the series and have included comments on the second half. At the moment, I am about halfway through the series and enjoying it immensely. When I discovered that a fansubbed version was being released online, I snapped it up right away. I first saw Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne during a trip to Korea, as part of the evening programming on their equivalent of "Cartoon Network." My Korean is not very good, but I was hooked on the tale of a young girl, the reincarnation of Joan of Arc, whose life mission is the capture of demons who inhabit things of great beauty.
